New York Minute. 10106, textured metallic abstracts
This painting is a diptych with each panel measuring 40x12. There is a bold, textured grid section on each panel. The dramatic colors and dynamic composition reminded me of the energy and excitement that is found in New York City.
Thoughts of 9-11 did not guide me in the creation of this piece, but after it was completed, I can see how such memories could be brought to mind.
I had difficulty photographing this piece with all it's metallic passages. There are gray-blue areas in the lower sections that appear black in the photo.

I love this - love the poppies too. I've never been much for abstracts but you are changing my mind! How did you do the textured part? I'd love to see a WIP from you. Great work. BTW I love the archaeological ones too.
Carol, you are converting me! I'm not usually a big fan of abstract work, but I really LOVE your work!! I can't quit looking at it!! Beautiful!
The colors are crisp. Very nice piece. http://duprelantwone.imagekind.com/
I'm so happy to see your abstracts again! Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed your 100 portraits, but I LOVE your abstracts!!!
I love the look of the grid, Carol!
Your use of texture is always so splendid!
