Not every painting is a winner, or even a keeper. Over the weekend, I worked for several hours on a large (24x36) painting of a snow scene with a river, big snow-covered rocks and a fox trotting through the snow. I had some photos of foxes, so that was the easy part. The river scene I saw in the newspaper. The photo was in black and white, about 1 1/2 inches square, and had people in it.
Note to self: do not start a large painting without good reference material.
Also, I could have saved myself work and paint if I'd done a small study to work out the problems.
I ended up wiping the whole thing off.
