This is another textured collage in my forest series. It incorporates such diverse items as burlap, gel medium, Egyptian papyrus paper, spices, and ribbon.

ReplyDeleteVery nice series.Color mixing so well. It's superb...
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can tell you enough how much I love your forest series. Brilliant concept and you've made the most amazing pieces, full of textured wonder.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Carol. I was wondering about using spices; if you use cinnamon does your painting actually have the aroma of cinnamon.
ReplyDeleteThis tree series is outstanding! Your style works so well with the abstract branch shapes. I also like the way you have areas of perfect geometrical shapes against the abstract. Wonderful contrast!
ReplyDeletebeautiful work... congrats...
ReplyDeleteCarol B - I had a large container of McCormick Spice Blends - coarsely ground seasoning blends of chili, cumin, garlic etc. It was getting too old to use in cooking, but I liked the texture. The painting smells a bit like chili, but when I put the final varnish on it, that will go away.
ReplyDeleteI use old spices, teas, coffee grounds, etc. to make "seasoned" papers too. :-)
The forest series is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Carol, loving the colours and textures. Pam
ReplyDeletePS still planning my trip!!
