Summer Harvest, 9053, original still life of summer vegetables
This is the latest challenge for Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks blog. The subject this time is this colorful plate of summer vegetables. I tried to emphasize the light/shadow and keep a painterly approach. For purchase information, please see my website.

I love the colors you used for the shadows! Beautiful work!
I like the way you cropped it but my favorite part is the purple shadows. It really unifies everything and makes the painting sing.
Fabulous color Carol. Wonderful contrasts and values.
Hi Carol!
I like it very much, and I have to concur with the previous posts about how great the purple shadows look (and the whole colors chosen). It gives vitality to the painting.
I love the contrast of warm and cool colors. Great job!
I agree the other comments...I love the purple shadows and the intense red tomatoes really makes your painting pleasing to the eye!
Beautiful, rich color, and gorgeous shadows. I like this one a lot!
Nice rich color Carol ...great composition in the cropping.
I love your version of this photograph. Your composition is nice. I especially like the onions. Well done!
Beautiful art work.
I always check your art on the Dailypainters website.

Beautiful work, I really love your use of color in this!
Wonderful job, Carol - great colors.
As everybody here, I was attracted by your colors, and overall the purple which is striking.
A stand out. The colors are fabulously rich.
beautiful colors!
Just beautiful, such a nice job on this challenge. I think some of the best paintings have come out of this challenge. Who knew? vegetables, lol.
I love your colors also, Carol. Nice cropping too!
Very colorful, very painterly, Carol...beautiful! I have corn envy!!
It's all been said - but the painting is wonderful, I especially love the shadows.
Thank you ALL. I am so happy to be a part of the Different Strokes family of painters. Karin has done us all a tremendous favor to host this forum.
The shadows are my favorite! Very nice!
Your crop is outstanding. I struggled with that for a few days and decided to go with the whole plate and add something instead. The brushwork (very painterly) and the colors (purple) are fantastic.
i love your DSFDF. It has such vitality also. Well done
Carol;
HOW in the world do you do an oil painting in one sitting?! I always have to wait for the layers to dry... and I'm impatient! :/ I LOVE this painting- I'm a chef as well as an artist- and it hits me both places! Great work!
This turned out great, Carol!
Nice bright colors and I like the cropped image too.
