Iron Horse

This abstracted horse was inspired by a metal sculpture I saw at the Denver Art Museum. Below, is a photo taken while my daughters and I were touring the museum on Mother's Day this year.  I am standing next to this larger than life sculpture.  It's such a cool piece - I wish I had a better picture of it.  It's all made of pieces of re-purposed rusted iron.

For my horse, I cut up different kinds of rusted iron and metallic papers.  It also has copper nails here and there.

I think I'll try doing another one.  It's not as easy as you may think to cut the paper in the contours of the horse's body.  I can't imagine doing it in metal.
