"TIDEPOOL" 11038 daily painter mixed media contemporary abstract © Carol Nelson Fine Art

"Tidepool"

This painting was a demo piece at a recent workshop.  I think it's obvious, even in a photo, how much texture the painting has.  The texture is a combination of stenciled modeling compound and prepared tyvek.
After the photo was taken, I added a thick layer of clear epoxy resin, enhancing the color richness and adding to the illusion that you are looking down through water.
This photo was taken in the sun after the epoxy layer was cured.
