Snow Sculptures in Breckenridge

Here's a few of the snow sculptures on display up in Breck.  The snow sculptures are an annual event that is very popular with visitors.

I had to go up to the mountains because yet another of my galleries is closing.  It's sad to pick up your work from a gallery that is closing it's doors.  The Columbine Gallery had been there for 23 years.

We had a lovely day anyhow.  After picking up the art, we drove to Breckenridge to see the snow sculptures.  We also took our three little mutts - shih tzus actually.  They LOVE to go in the van.

After walking around in Breck, their little legs must have gotten pooped out because they slept all the way home.

Such beautiful surroundings, no wonder the artist were inspired with their snow sculptures. It's always amazing to see what artists can create from, ice, snow and sand.
Sad day when a long standing gallery closes. Hoping new homes come along for your beautiful art pieces.

When our kids were small and we all used to ski together, we would go to Breck and see these. They are always so incredible1 What a talented group of sculptors.

Love the sculptures! And the photos of the mountain. Beautiful. Shame about the gallery closing after 23 years, very sad.

Sounds like quite a bittersweet day, Carol. The snow sculptures are amazing! Hopefully your work finds a new venue soon.

My Colorado Springs kids (my son,his wife and 7 of our grandkids in their 15 passenger van) tried to go see the Breck display (they go every year), but the weather thwarted their efforts this time. They said it was essentially a 5 hour U-turn, with whiteout conditions the last hour or so home. Great pics of the sculptures Carol!

Colorado itself is a beauty and splendid place to visit and families and friends will surely enjoy with a lot of activities in store. It sure was a very good snow sculpture event for this year all entries were at its best designs.
