Nocternal visitors

Last night I let the dogs out to do their business in the back yard. Charlie was barking his head off. We called him back in, but he kept whining to go out again. Finally I went out to investigate. I could hear something was moving around and breaking twigs in the tree above me. When I threw some light on the situation, I could see a mother raccoon and two youngsters were up in the tree.

We live across the street from a state park. There is a busy road between our development and the park. To make it across safely, the raccoons go UNDER the road through the storm drains - how's that for clever?

so cute!! We have a smart one that has learned to lift the lid of our storage bin to forage for seeds...Jerry wants to leave them a note to please close it when they are done...ha

Oh Carol, though they may be cute, raccoons have wreaked havoc in and around our house choosing to live and nest in our attic year after year. They also injured our dog on more than one occasion...careful they are smart and can be aggressive!
