SOLD!

Here's a few of the paintings/prints that found new homes at ART IN THE PARK, where I decided to take only paintings of flowers or animals. Although the weather was very warm, I was thankful it was not raining. In two weeks I will be doing my last outdoor show of the season at the Castle Rock ARTFEST, where I will be showing only abstract work.

I have found it's better to show generally one style of painting per show. It helps the viewers get a better grasp of your body of work to narrow the focus. If I'm displaying realism and abstraction in the same 10x10 foot booth, they think it's the work of two different artists. Maybe one day, when I grow up, I'll focus on one style of painting.

Those hydrangeas are exquisite, Carol. I don't remember seeing them on the blog. Congrats on the many sales! Not surprised the leaves sold; I always loved them! (Well, I'm not surprised anything sold as your work is phenomenal!)

It sounds like you had a good show. I certainly understand your separating the styles. Its too bad you have to do that, but it does work better.

Carol-- I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to meet you. My mother has been nagging me to get back to painting and I've finally decided to do it. I was so inspired by your 100 portraits that I am going to start in September doing 50 pets in 60 days! Good luck to you and Congratulations on a great show.

Congratulations! You make a good point about the observer. I agree. Good luck with your next one. I enjoy both your styles. Who says you have to grow up?

Great news about the sales and please don't grow up.. I'd like to have company down here in the "many styles of" land.
