Leaf Series 2-10107 mixed media leaves © Carol Nelson Fine Art

This is one of three leaf paintings on a cradled panels. All three are approximately 18 x 6 inches. I used 300 lb watercolor paper for the leaves, then glued them to the painted panel. The whole thing was covered with a thick, crystal clear layer of epoxy which enhances and deepens the colors and creates such a beautiful effect.

Another gorgeous piece, Carol. I love the composition of this piece. Can't decide if I like this one or the first one best! This one for the composition, I think, the last one for the colors, and both are exquisite with the epoxy poured over them! Gosh, I wish I could come out and watch you do one of these!!

Well. These are just GORGEOUS. I have no idea how you do that, but I really, really like the effect. I mean, you can explain it till the cows come home and I'm still .... very impressed. Great piece!

Love the leaves. Thanks for sharing your technique, too. I always find that to be so interesting.
