100 OIL PORTRAITS IN 100 DAYS - Randy, 87/100, Carol Nelson Fine Art

Day 87

This is Randy, husband of Kay, (51/100). This is a great reference photo with the bright sun highlighting the planes of his face. A photo like that makes my job easy. His eyes, however, are in such deep shadow that I couldn't make them out, even with a magnifying glass.
I use a magnifying glass on many of the photos. It has revealed critical little details on more than one portrait. For purchase information, please see my website.

Carol, your skill just keep getting better and better. This one is such a wonderful likeness and I like the way you stayed true to the sun-squinted eyes. Great job...are we voting soon because Randy will definitely get mine!
