100 PORTRAITS IN 100 DAYS - Lauren, 2/100 © Carol Nelson Fine Art

Day 2. This is my beautiful daughter, Lauren. This picture was taken on a boat in Sydney harbor when Lauren and her husband, Drouin, lived in Australia. They recently moved back to Denver and I'm so glad.

The fun thing about this portrait was doing the sunglasses with the reflections on them.

Remember, if you've already sent me a photo of yourself, and you want to have me publish the link to your blog or website when I post your portrait, to send the address to me.

Boy you have great genes to get two for two in beautiful daughters. I bet they are thrilled with these.

Good golly, Carol! You have two beautiful daughters! If you decide to use the photo I sent you, please let me know. I'd love to post it on my blog, but as I don't know if you will even use the photo and I am not sure you could do the posting (passwords needed, I think), I'll do more checking if you end up painting it. At any rate, I am blown away by these paintings of your girls. Truly gorgeous, both of them!

I love the colors in this one Carol! And, the sunglasses are awesome! Your daughters look like models! Very beautiful work! I am looking ahead to the coming months...you are going to be a masters master when you are finished! Can't wait to come paint with you one day and hopefully have some of this soak in!! PS...what a workshop this would make...fauvist portraits!! Hmmm...does it give you ideas? :)

You managed to take a flat-looking photograph and turn it into a very vivid painting, Carol!

I love the exaggerated colors and the reflection in the sunglasses steals the show!

Would you mind if I stole your idea and painted 100 horses in 100 days (or maybe 200 days? LOL)
