HYDRANGEA BOUQUET, 9096, impasto still life of blue hydrangeas © Carol Nelson Fine Art

This painting is a commission piece for a collector who lives in Hawaii. With all the beautiful tropical flowers around her, she still misses the deep blues of the hydrangeas she remembers from the northeast. Her request was that the painting be predominantly of the flowers, have deep cobalt blues, and heavy impasto. SOLD

You're right, Sheila. She said it is EXACTLY what she wanted. It's nice to have a collector give you very specific instructions about what she wants.

Here's what the client who purchased the painting had to say:

"Your painting is here and it's GORGEOUS! It's already hanging in place and I can't stop admiring it. The hydrangea flowers are beautifully lifelike, their colors are so luminous and the entire composition is exactly what I've been dreaming of. I love it that the picture goes around all the sides - I've never seen that before - and the painting was immediately ready for hanging.

You packed it so nicely too - I really cannot thank you enough for this small masterpiece you've created!"

I think she liked it.
