Color Cubes, 9079, mini color palette abstracts

Here's more of these little cube frames I purchased recently. This time I painted mini abstracts in different color families. I must admit, this was just playing around and it was fun. Every artist should allow themselves to play with their paints from time to time and not try to do the next masterpiece on every every time you pick up a brush.
To see these in more detail, just click on the picture. Each painting is 4 x 4 inches (10.2 x10.2 cm)

Several people have asked where I got the cube frames: Big Lots - an outlet store here in CO. I don't know if it's a national chain or not. Their inventory is very eclectic and you never know what you're going to find there - that's part of the fun of going in there.

Carol, I absolutely LOVE these. And, I agree with what you said, which kind of speaks to me after I posted my blog today. I talked about you today. I admire you, and I am glad to know you!

really love these cubes, there is so much depth to the paintings although they are monochrome, they are just super.
I am a big fan of your abstracts which have inspired me to start abstract painting again.(I did a lot until I discovered oil painting)

Carol!

Oh my! These are cute!!

Where on earth did you find such mini frames? Did you build them yourself? They bring out each abstract wonderfully.

I love the way each painting is its own color. They look like an abstract rainbow the way you lined them all up!

Lovely!
