Miller Time, 9049, twilight in the Big Apple

This is my version of another DSFDF challenge. Karin Jurick, our fearless leader, supplied the photo of bustling New York City. I thought I would change the time of day to early evening. The lights have come on and everything is bathed in a glow from the golden sky.
I've never painted a cityscape before. It was challenging and tedious. I COULD NOT STAND to do every little window, so the buildings are just a suggestion of what is in the photo. I would make a terrible architect. The main thing I wanted was the beautiful effect a glowing sky has on the scene.

Hi Carol,
I have to agree with you in that city scapes are not my favorite subject (and I haven't made one so far either). That's why I haven't even started this week's challenge, shame on me... <:(
But, after all, your art work turned out very 'desirable', I like what you did with the lights, so much warmer now. Regards

Great job on this Carol, I really like the night take, with the lights and action of the BIG city. Beautiful colour choices.

Carol, I feel your pain about painting windows...you did a wonderful job suggesting them! The color in this painting is great, I like the feel of the evening coming on...it glows beautifully!!

Thank, Dana. I'm glad you got a sense of evening glow. That's what I was after.

Wonderful! I don't plan to paint every window! I'm still balking at doing the taxis. I love the twilight colors here. NYC never looked more warm and inviting.

Very nice Carol. Love the change of light. I eliminated the buildings. Made it much easier :-} It just noticed you on the Daily Painters. Is that new? Congratulations (belated or not) for being included.

Carol, I like your decisions. The colors are great together and they really make it feel like early evening. I like the way you changed all the vehicles to taxis so they are all orange and I like the way you just suggested the windows. It all works.
