Last Day/First Day

I am SO EXCITED. Today is my LAST DAY of working. Besides my painting, I have a "real job" working as a medical technologist for Kaiser Permanente. Tomorrow will be my FIRST DAY of being what I love: a FULL TIME ARTIST.
It's kind of like the life-altering feeling I had on the way to the hospital before the birth of my first child many years ago. It was a foggy 3am ride and I wanted to gleefully shout into the night "I'm going to have a baby!" That exuberance is what I feel now.
We don't get many days in our lives when our path makes an abrupt turn. Sometimes we don't even see the turns coming. I've seen this turn coming for a long time and now it's here.
I cannot wipe the smile from my face. :-)

Congrats Carol!

What a nice turning point in your life. To dedicate your days to your artwork full-time instead of just on the side.

You'll probably get a ton more paintings done!

Good for you.

Congratulations. You will enjoy it.
I did the same thing last May. You will be amazed at how quickly the days fill up. Paninting or drawing when you not tired from other things is wonderful. Your work is great now, think of where time and energy will take it.

Best wishes

I retired two years ago and I'm loving every minute of it. There are STILL not enough hours in the day though. Wake up each morning with the knowledge that you are free to choose how you spend those hours!!
