This painting has a lot of gold metal leaf and texture that makes it so interesting. I painted over the metal leaf in a lot of places so it's shininess is subdued. You have to be careful with metallics not to over do them, or they can overwhelm the painting.

Thanks, Sally. It has a lot of metallic gold that doesn't show well in the photograph. I hardly ever do a painting where blue is the predominant color, so I was real happy the way this one turned out.
