Chestnut Trio, 4x12 oil, chestnut horses, $100




Sometimes, it's so difficult to photograph a painting. I must have taken 20 shots of this one, moving it all over the house, before I got something halfway decent. I love this painting, even though it was hard to get the right amount of detail in such a small painting. Think I'll try it big.

I think that the structure of the canvas is too much rough to paint easely small details.

You're right, Jaio. Small paintings with detail often work better on a smooth surface. The photo of this painting exaggerates the canvas texture. It looks better than the photo.
